Brunner Avenue arson update: recognize anyone?

Kamloops police are releasing images of three people and a truck as part of an ongoing investigation into an arson on Brunner Avenue.

On March 13, 2024, around 3 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to a house on the 1700-block of Brunner Avenue, where firefighters were already on scene and smoke could be observed coming out of a window. No one was injured during the fire, which is being investigated as an arson.

Since then, police have located video capturing the images of men and a light-coloured truck in the area of Brunner Avenue, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Police are releasing the images with the hope that someone will be able to identify any of the three men, or have more information available which could help further the investigation.

Descriptions are as follows:

Vehicle:

• older model pickup truck
• silver or beige
• dark canopy on the back

Suspect one:

• older Caucasian man
• sharp nose
• beige flat cap
• beige jacket over top a red zip up jacket with a white zipper down the middle and around a left chest pocket
• dark pants
• light or beige shoes

Suspect two:

• Caucasian man with facial hair
• dark jacket and sweater with the hood up
• blue jeans
• dark shoes

Suspect three:

• Caucasian man
• blue ball cap
• dark jeans
• blue jacket
• black and white shoes

Anyone with information, including any dash camera or security video that may have captured footage that may be related to this incident, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-7335.
