Maple Ridge B.C – Ridge Meadows RCMP have called the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

On August 12, 2022 at approximately 11:45 am, Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the 11900 block of 216th Street.

Frontline officers arrived on scene to find a 33-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police attempted life saving measures on the man until BC Ambulance Services arrived to continue; however, he was later pronounced deceased. The Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crime Unit (SCU) and Investigational Support Team (IST) are currently on scene assisting with the investigation.

It is still in the early stages of the investigation and at this time, it is unknown if this is related to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict. IHIT has deployed and now have conduct of the investigation.
